How it's calculated

BRTA's notice of 16 October 2026 makes a front number plate compulsory on every motorcycle and scooter from 15 November 2026: 285 × 50 mm for a motorcycle and 200 × 100 mm for a scooter, black Bangla letters and numerals on white, letters at least 20 mm tall, in stainless steel or aluminium, with no decoration.

The preview is drawn at those exact millimetre sizes. We fit the text as large as the plate allows and measure the real height of the letters, so the check shows whether yours clear 20 mm. Long area names are narrowed to fit rather than shrunk.

This makes a design, not the plate. Take the PNG or the true-size print to a plate maker, who cuts it in steel or aluminium. Your rear RFID plate stays as it is.

What size is the motorcycle front number plate?

Yes, if you print on A4 at 100% (actual size), not 'fit to page'. Measure the printed plate with a ruler before cutting.

Can I add a border or design?

The notice bans decoration and designs. It doesn't mention borders, so the border option is off by default; ask your plate maker before adding one.

What is the deadline?

15 November 2026. BRTA says owners who don't fit a front plate face legal action; no fine amount has been published.
